Welcome, and thank you for visiting Our Savior Lutheran Church of Auburn online. We are a new fellowship here in the beautiful Sierra foothills, and we look forward to where the Holy Spirit leads us.
Please come for a visit on Sunday morning. We would love to greet you and share with you our love for Jesus Christ and for you, our neighbor.
Our Faith Body
We worship together on Sundays with songs, prayer, scripture reading, homilies or reflections on the Word, and hospitality.
We are affiliated with the North American Lutheran Church, or NALC - a Christ centered, mission driven, traditionally grounded, and congregationally focused organization.
Read more about our leadership team, and congregational activities on the "About Us" tab (above).
We meet every Sunday at 9AM for worship and fellowship time together. We pray, serve, and fellowship together. Services are held at 14675 Musso Road in Auburn, just past the entrance to Dingus McGee's. Look for the directional sign at the Bell Road I-80 exit: "A new beginning at the end of the road."
Communion is offered every Sunday, and available to all believers.

Meet the pastor: Our Savior Lutheran Church is blessed to be led in worship and spiritual life by our pastor, Rev. George Black. Most recently, Pastor Black served as Senior Pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in the Baltimore, MD area. He retired after nearly 40 years of service to churches in Wyoming, Indiana, Michigan, New York, and the Grand Cayman Islands. He has made 12 missionary trips to Africa over his career. Now he returns to his calling as our Part-Time Pastor. He has been married to his lovely wife Julie for 39 years, with 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. Please join us in welcoming Pastor Black to our community and family of believers. For more information, please click on the "Meet Pastor George" tab (above).
Food Closet Support
Non-perishable foods (cans, boxes, packaged) along with paper sacks and egg cartons may be brought to worship and left for pick-up by our Food Closet volunteers, who will make the trip to the Auburn Interfaith Food Closet. Items are stored and eventually distributed to those in need.
The Food Closet recently moved to a new location, by the Auburn Airport. To learn more about them, or to volunteer, please visit: www.auburnfoodcloset.org
Helping Our Neighbors and Community
In addition to supporting the Food Closet with financial gifts and supplies, OSLC supports other local causes with prayer, financial support, and volunteer services:
- Acres Of Hope is a place where lives are changed and hope is restored. The non-profit, faith-based program provides support and resources needed to end the cycles of homelessness for women with children. Families live onsite (in marvelous modular housing) for up to 2 years. Volunteers play a pivotal role, from property upkeep to mentoring the women.
- The Gathering Inn is a well established program that organizes up to 60 churches who offer food and overnight shelter for homeless people in the Placer County area. GI has expanded their services to help clients get back on their feet again, from medical care services to clothing and job search coaching.
- Right Hand Auburn is a faith-based, nonprofit organization working to feed and house men and women in Auburn while encouraging their participation in services that help integrate their way back on a path of stability. OSLC is assisting with providing and serving meals.
